Roads to Recovery funding for Lockyer Valley

Lockyer Valley Regional Council will receive almost $4m to upgrade and maintain local roads through the Coalition Government’s Roads to Recovery Program.

Assistant Minister for Roads and Transport and Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz, said the program plays a vital role in supporting councils to keep people safe on our roads, and to get them home quicker.

“Our Government is increasing the annual investment in the Roads to Recovery Program to $400 million and I’m very pleased that Lockyer Valley Regional Council will benefit from that,” Mr Buchholz said.

“The program is a great example of federal and local governments working together to bring real benefits to our local communities.”

Across Australia, the Coalition is providing $2 billion to local governments through the Roads to Recovery Program.

“By announcing the funding allocations now, Council can move ahead with certainty to budget for important road upgrades and maintenance projects over the next five years,” Mr Buchholz said.

“Residents expect safer, and better local roads and I’m proud that the contribution from the Coalition Government will help achieve that.”

The allocations for Wright have been calculated using the proportion of Financial Assistance Grants that each local governing body receives and updated assessments undertaken by local government grants commissions.
