Questacon comes to Queensland
Wednesday, 13 November 2019
Science buffs and local students are encouraged to explore their scientific streak when the Shell Questacon Science Circus rolls into Logan later this month.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen said the show was an opportunity for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects to engage with these disciplines in a fun and interactive way.
“The Science Circus will provide entertainment with demonstrations featuring fire handling and levitating objects but also showcase how science and technology can benefit our everyday lives,” Mr van Manen said.
“STEM education is critically important to our personal and future economic development and punters will get to witness some innovation possibilities first hand.”
Shell Questacon Science Circus is usually held in Canberra but will travel to Logan Metro Sports Centre on 23 November.
Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz welcomed the Shell Questacon Science Circus to South East Queensland and encouraged parents, carers, teachers and students to attend.
“The Science Circus inspires all Australians to look at science and technology from a new perspective with its travelling, hands-on exhibits and spectacular science shows.
“I urge parents, carers and teachers to encourage children to attend and enjoy the hands on experience, I am sure we have some local STEM stars. It is a great way to encourage children that maths and science can be fun and is a world of opportunity,” Mr Buchholz said.
Shell Questacon Science Circus will be at:
