MP turns to Facebook for budget feedback
Friday, 13 May 2011
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz has turned to social network site “Facebook” to interact directly with his constituents following this week’s federal budget.
He has created a Facebook Page discussion forum and wants people in his electorate to tell him how the budget affects them. He has posed three questions:
1) How does the federal budget affect you?
2) What are the spending priorities in Wright?
3) What costs of living are impacting you the most?
Mr Buchholz is relatively new to social media but believes any way of communicating with his electorate is valuable. “With technology now so many more people can access their elected representatives and give us their thoughts,” he said.
Mr Buchholz has guaranteed that he will personally read each comment and respond where necessary. To be a part of the budget discussion go to the Facebook page of Mr Buchholz at www.facebook.com/ScottBuchholzMP and “Like” the page. This will provide access to the discussion forums.
