Members of the Tamborine Pony Club will benefit from upgraded facilities, with Scott Buchholz, the Member for Wright, delivering funding to upgrade irrigation equipment and rejuvenate the playing surfaces.
“The Morrison Liberal National Government is delivering $66,885 to the Tamborine Pony Club to undertake these upgrades, which will expand the available space for riders and provide a safer riding environment.
“This will allow more members to use the Club and support future membership growth.
“I’ve worked with the Tamborine Pony Club to secure this investment. I’m proud that the Liberal National Government is delivering for local sporting facilities like the Club,” Mr Buchholz said.
Secretary of the Tamborine Pony Club Melinda Hughes thanked Scott Buchholz and welcomed the funding, saying these long-sought upgrades are a huge boost for the Club’s parents and children.
“We are a grassroots club. Our focus is on providing members with the best possible experience to bond with their animals, learn key skills, and have the best possible sporting facilities available.
“This funding will enable the Club to be able to upgrade the surfaces via aeration, top dressing and fertilising, which will make the facility a safer place for our horses to use and help in the longevity of our animals. Additionally we will be able to put down a bore and, therefore, have permanent water for our animals. Hopefully, if the bore is good enough, we will also be able to water our grounds which will make them an even better surface to ride on,” Mrs Hughes said.
Scott Buchholz said he will continue to deliver for local families and community groups, including by delivering upgrades for community and sporting facilities.
“Thanks to the responsible economic management of the Liberal National Government, we can fund important upgrades for grassroots sport such as this.
“I’ll continue to fight for local groups and deliver for our community,” Mr Buchholz said.
