Community groups are reminded that nominations are being sought for worthwhile local projects as part of Round Three of the highly successful Stronger Communities Program.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz encouraged local community organisations and sporting clubs to apply now.
“The Stronger Communities Program supports developments in the local community that deliver social benefits, increase participation and contribute to the local area,” Mr Buchholz said.
“We have funded many fantastic local projects in earlier rounds including men’s sheds and associated equipment, scoreboards, computers, upgrades to community halls and clubhouses and installing playgrounds.”
Mr Buchholz said that grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 are available to meet up to 50% of the costs of small capital projects. There is a pre-application process and strict criteria apply.
“Please start this nomination process by calling my office for a preliminary nomination form. A local consultation panel will then consider all proposals and selected projects will then be invited to formally apply,” Mr Buchholz said.
“If your organisation is planning a future project, this is a great opportunity for the Federal Government to support your work and help fund the costs.”
