Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz has announced $17,162 in funding under the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grants program for the Laidley RSL Sub Branch.
Scott Buchholz said the BEST grants support ex-service organisations like Laidley RSL Sub Branch in providing compensation and welfare assistance to the Defence and veteran communities.
“This grant plays a vital role in defraying the cost of the outreach work of the Laidley RSL Sub Branch and supporting those who have made a significant sacrifice in service of our country,” Mr Buchholz said.
“The BEST grant is used for a range of veteran support measures, including salaries for trained advocates and pension staff, essential office supplies, computer equipment, internet access or other administrative needs,
“The next round of BEST grants is expected to open for ex-service organisations in March 2019 and close in April 2019” Mr Buchholz said.
Laidley RSL Sub Branch President, Thomas Barton welcomed the funding from the Federal LNP Government.
“I welcome this funding announced by Scott Buchholz on behalf of the Federal Government,” Mr Barton said.
“My pension and welfare officers will be very pleased with this funding because it goes towards all the bits and pieces vital to supporting our veterans in Laidley,
