Local primary producers can now access recovery grants of up to $25,000 with the Federal Government upgrading assistance to Category C funding for the Scenic Rim, Logan and parts of the Gold Coast.
“This is the extra help we’ve been seeking for our primary producers affected by the recent flooding,” Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz said.
“It will ensure eligible primary producers have financial help for clean-up and restoration activities, such as removing debris, disposing of damaged goods and repairing damaged equipment.”
“Many farms in the Scenic Rim have been severely impacted. This higher level of assistance will help local farmers and growers to get back on their feet as quickly as possible.”
Mr Buchholz said eligible primary producers are now able to access exceptional circumstance recovery grants worth $10,000 and $25,000.
“I encourage all local farms dealing with the aftermath of ex-Cyclone Debbie to apply for this and the range of other assistance currently available.”
“I will continue to push for any further extension of assistance that is needed to ensure our local farmers and small businesses can bounce back from this natural disaster,” Mr Buchholz said.
