The Jimboomba State School P&C are making a splash after receiving a boost through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.
The Jimboomba State School P&C received $20,000 to help with the cost of purchasing and installing a booster heater for the Jimboomba Swimming Pool.
P&C President Sue Bremner said the funding would greatly benefit the local community.
“The pool is very popular with the local community, it is used regularly by young children learning to swim, school students, the Jimboomba Stingray Swim Club and lap swimmers,” Mrs Bremner said.
“The booster heater will increase the water temperature to 28 degrees when it falls below that level ensuring a more comfortable swim for those making a splash.”
“The booster heater will also allow us to extend the swim season from August to June and encourage more people to dive in and stay swim safe.”
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz congratulated the Jimboomba State School P&C on their Stronger Communities Program success.
“The Jimboomba State School P&C works hard to provide a safe and comfortable swimming experience for all locals to enjoy,” Mr Buchholz said.
“I am proud to be part of a government that supports the initiatives of community minded groups like the Jimboomba State School P&C through this grant.”
“The Jimboomba pool will continue to keep locals cool in summer and now warm in winter and I thank the P&C for their continued commitment to the local community.”
