Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz is excited to announce the second annual Wright Community Contribution Awards are now open.
The Awards were created last year as a way for the broader community to recognise and give thanks to those who devote time to helping others.
Mr Buchholz is eager to see an even bigger response than last year.
“The first Wright Community Contribution Awards were held last year and were a resounding success. We received over 100 nominations from across the electorate; I want to see double that this year” said Mr Buchholz.
Mr Buchholz said without the selflessness of volunteers many of our local community organisations and services would cease to exist, thus making volunteers invaluable members of our community.
“I have launched the Awards because I think it’s important we let our local volunteers know how much we appreciate their efforts to make the Scenic Rim a better place to live”,

There will be a special presentation ceremony later this year for recipients of the Awards. Nominations are currently open and will close on the 10th October 2015.
