Parents, teachers and principals in local school communities can see exactly how they will benefit from the Coalition Government’s $18.6 billion needs-based funding plan using a new online school funding estimator.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz said the Government was delivering record funding to local schools and the estimator allows local school communities to see that their students will be better off.
“I encourage local parents, teachers and principals to access the online school funding estimator and see exactly how our schools will be beneficiaries of this fairer, needs-based funding package,” Mr Buchholz said.
“This is good news for our local schools. No school in the electorate will have a reduction in funding in 2018, and there are very significant increases in funding for all schools in the future.”
Mr Buchholz said that schools in all sectors would benefit – with an average increase of 60.4% for government schools, 39.7% for Catholic schools and 51.5% for independent schools over the next ten years.
“This is a really positive policy for local students and families. Together with our policies to improve teacher quality and make the curriculum more relevant, this funding will make our fantastic local schools even better,” Mr Buchholz said.
