The Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch will take their services on the road after receiving a boost through the Federal Government’s Veteran and Community Grants Program.
The Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch received $20,396.09 to help with the cost of purchasing, furnishing and maintaining the Dr Robert Maher Welfare Trailer.
Senior Vice President Steve Monteath said the trailer was the first of its kind in Queensland.
“The trailer will help the Sub Branch inform the community and our local veterans about the programs and services that are available to them,” Mr Monteath said.
“We aim to help and assist all local veterans, we have staff of all ages and have a great understanding of veterans’ service and experiences.”
“The vehicle will also be available for hire to any RSL Sub Branch in the South East region to continue their work in the community.”
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz congratulated the Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch on their success.
“The Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch makes such a difference in the lives of its members and the local veteran community – providing help and support to our veterans and their families,” Mr Buchholz said.
“I’m proud to be part of a government that supports the initiatives of community-minded groups like the Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch through this grant.”
“I thank them for their continued commitment and service to our community.”
