16 local young athletes are on track for a bright future after receiving a $500 Local Sporting Champions Grant to pursue their sporting dreams.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz presented the awards in a special ceremony and praised the inspiring sporting stars for their success on the track, field and court.
“These young athletes are chasing their dreams and are a shining example of the calibre of sporting talent in our region,” Mr Buchholz said.
“They are an inspiration for other local aspiring sporting champions and join a very long list of successful sportsmen and women from our area.”
“These grants will help to cover the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms and sporting equipment when competing at state, national and international championships.”
