Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz has officially opened the new learning facilities at McAuley College in Beaudesert.
Students and staff at McAuley College now have full use of their new general learning areas, a science room, a home economics room, an art and manual arts room, an administration area, a library, pupil amenities and a partly covered PE area.
The Coalition Government provided $3,499,518 in funding to the school from the Capital Grants Program.
Mr Buchholz attended the opening of the new facilities on behalf of the Federal Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham.
“It was great to visit McAuley College and see the school firsthand and the impact the new facilities will have on students’ learning potential,” Mr Buchholz said.
“Students and the whole school community will benefit from these of these new facilities.”
“These new learning spaces take into account the latest in education research and will see students learn more effectively.”
Mr Buchholz said the new and refurbished buildings would be an asset to all students and teachers at McAuley College.
“While buildings alone do not make a great school, I hope students will enjoy learning and be inspired by these new facilities to put their thinking caps on and come up with some great ideas to help make our world a better place,” Mr Buchholz said.
“The Coalition Government is committed to improving the quality of our schools and equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.”
