CARRIAGE
President of the Equine Carriage Association at Jimboomba, Fiona Strachan has welcomed Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz visit after a recent federal investment resulted in an upgrade of the grounds.
“Firstly, we undertook a soil test to see what we needed to do. With the federal funding from Scott Buchholz and of course our own, we were able to resurface.
“We aerated, top soiled, got a new grass down and that is just the tip of the iceberg. We’ve been able to make a safe, level driving area.
“There are big things coming here out of Jimboomba in the near future, so keep your eye on us,” Fiona said.
Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz said the Club was not only keeping history alive, celebrating the history of horses, horsemanship and the work done to pioneer many rural communities, but also a great sport for many in the community.
“I was pleased to be back in Jimboomba to see the benefits of the Stronger Communities Programme and the work that had been done at the Carriage Club.
“This is a niche sport, something the participants are very passionate about. But even if you don’t want to ride, it is great fun to watch!
“I want to thank Fiona and her team for the great work they do, keep the Club going and growing, putting on a fantastic show.
“Our partnership of $10,000 is supporting a better, safer grounds to ensure members can ride on,” Mr Buchholz said.
