Re-elected Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP has been promoted from the back-bench and into the new Coalition government leadership team.
Mr. Buchholz received an unexpected phone call from Prime Minister elect, Tony Abbot, offering him the position of Government Whip which he swiftly accepted.
Its an honour and privilege to be asked to serve as part of the new Coalition governments management team in a Government Whip position,
I look forward to taking on the additional responsibilities which come with this role however my focus remains with the electorate of Wright said Mr. Buchholz.
The role of a Whip as part of the leadership team is primarily an administrative one, charged with the organisation of government business for parliament.
Mr. Buchholz will be working alongside senior statesman, The Hon. Phillip Ruddock, who is stepping up as Chief Government Whip and experienced Government Whip, Nola Marino MP from Western Australia.
