The Federal Liberal and Nationals Government has approved funding for the construction of a new footpath on Tamborine Mountain, on Alpine Terrace for the missing link between St Bernard’s State School and White Road.
The funding is part of the Morrison Governments $2.5 billion Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, which is supporting local jobs, businesses and boosting the economy during COVID-19.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz said getting shovels in the ground on local projects was important for maintaining jobs and economic growth in the region, while also building for the community.
“Every single job we support makes a huge difference in our local community, now and as we build our way out of the pandemic,” Mr Buchholz said.
“That is why we have approved more funding to flow to the Scenic Rim Regional Council, of $175,000 for the project.
“At the same time, we’re building more infrastructure in our community, improving local assets and making our roads safer.
“This project will ensure locals can get to and from school, shops and the café’s more safely.
“We want the program to support jobs, businesses and make our community better,” Mr Buchholz said.
