The Kooralbyn Mountain Bike Club has received a boost under the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Progamme, Member for Wright Scott Buchholz has announced.
Joining with Andrew and Vicki Bonney, Club President and Secretary respectively, Scott Buchholz inspected the Club grounds and heard first hand about how the funding was expended.
“Great to be back in this little gem of our region, the Kooralbyn Valley and I am pleased to see the Kooralbyn Mountain Bike Club has received $10,000 in funding under the Stronger Communities programme.
“With his funding, they have been able to improve security to protect the asset but also purchase equipment to maintain the trails and ensure the park’s upkeep is making the place safe and user friendly,” Mr Buchholz said.
President of the Kooralbyn Mountain Bike Club, Andrew Bonney has welcomed the funding and thanked Scott Buchholz for his work and support of the Club.
“We want to give a big thanks to Scott Buchholz for our grant and taking his time to visit us and the park and see what we are about. It was really appreciated”.
“With he $10,000 we have upgraded security with new cameras running off solar and we have some maintenance gear, including a zero turn mower,” Mr Bonney said.
Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz said the Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) was supporting local groups.
“I am very pleased to see the club was successful under the latest round of SCP and it is great to see the new infrastructure and equipment, to support the volunteers who do an amazing job.
“Mountain biking is a growing sport, this park attracts hundreds of people to our region and the Federal Government is backing them in,” Mr Buchholz said.
Round 7 of the program will provide $22.65 million to encourage and support participation in local projects, improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.
