Further disaster assistance has been made available to locals two months on from the devastating flooding that left damage and destruction in its wake.
Federal Member for Wright Scott Buchholz said locals have not been forgotten and help was on its way.
“Demolition and rebuilding assistance is now available to locals whose houses were damaged by the recent flooding,” Mr Buchholz said.
“So many individuals and families from across our region have been affected, this extra assistance will help our community get back on its feet as quickly as possible.”
The extra assistance is being provided through the Queensland State Government with support from the Federal Government through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).
Mr Buchholz said local residents in Logan and the Scenic Rim were eligible for the demolition and rebuilding assistance.
“I encourage locals dealing with the aftermath of ex-Cyclone Debbie to apply for this and the range of other assistance currently available,” Mr Buchholz said.
“I will continue to push for any further extension of assistance that is needed to ensure our community can rebuild better than ever from this natural disaster.”
